She's being excessive but she's right.

The only positive thing people have said about the coord is
>the dress is iconic
>but she looks happy
>well at least it fits
None of that makes for a good outfit. The pinks don't match, and that is one of the biggest fuckups of the entire outfit considering she only had the one piece and headdress to work with up top.
You're literally giving credit to someone for just wearing a dress when they managed to fuck up something as basic as a shoe and bag choice.

What the literal hell is this excuse-making suddenly, when usually this shit merits a rip-apart on cgl, ESPECIALLY when people fuck up the look of a recognized piece like this?

I think its more that she was a snot about it on a COF post and then threw a hissy fit. She's allowed to not like it or think it's not a good coord/not lolita, but it kind of feels like she's just trying to flex her old school dominion for some reason since she hopped on the train recently. One of the things I really enjoyed when I was a babby lolita emerging was googling new or old dresses. Remember saving a bunch of pictures then putting compilations and wishlists together?
"They" doesn't care or isn't aware of how fun and ultimately satisfying it is to group together dream items and eventually obtain them. They just want other people to choose for them, that's so strange and lazy.

not that anon, but I know quite a few old school girls who sometimes buy new releases. the problem with most new lolita though is that it's nothing compared to older things. even when they replicate old stuff it usually looks too modern because of the laces and things.

>> No.10188063

>>10188040
I have a closet of old and new “old” style. The old school part of my community is like this as well. We do buy the new stuff fairly often. We simply like the quality of the older stuff more because it was made better. Not because it’s “cheaper”. Newer releases have been lacking in the quality department, changing cotton fabrics in place of synthetic fabrics. Using heavy velvet and heavier fabrics in place of thinner cheaper velvet and printed light weight chiffon replicating the “couch” print. Cotton lace now being replaced with synthetic lace. Modern stuff needs less steaming due to it being more synthetic fabrics. They do not last as long and brands cutting corners is starting to show.

And It’s the beginner chat, you need to read the rules before joining that chat and amino rules clearly say what DDLG is and why it’s banned. I smell a bullshit explanation for fetishizing childhood sexual Trauma from a literal child.

>> No.10188883

>>10188877
Personally if you enjoy childish things, enjoy them. There's no harm in toy collecting, coloring, generally preferring animation over live action, etc. Having a space for items that make you smile and remember more carefree times is pretty innocent. That in and of itself isn't a kink.

The moment you attach the word "little", I'm going to run away screaming and slam the door in your face.

Same can be said about trans people who feel the need to share they are trans. No one cares what your pronouns are and saying something about it in every post you make just makes it look like a weird kink for you. But in this case, I would give it some time before you press the sissy alarm. This person is new to the fashion and might not know much about it. The term “princess dress” is alerting but he probably doesn’t know hime style exists and has no other way of calling it. He said tights and not panty hose which is usually a sign of sissy as well. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and see if this is serious and he’s wants to really learn about the fashion rather then use it for a kink.

If this person is already using the term then they’re already straying into whichever area of the internet has that kink somehow. Being banned is pretty mild, at least she’s learning now what it is, and that people straight up hate it and find it disgusting. Better than inviting a playmate over for “play time” and then having to clear up what kind of play she meant while some angry guy tries to figure out why she won’t “play”.

Besides, if you let people off the hook with “muh childhood trauma” then you’re just reinforcing that they get special treatment because “muh childhood trauma”, which opens the floodgates for chris-chans and other psychopaths. Better to ban them all, so that they don’t have the space to manipulate with this kind of emotional tactics, lolita comms are not equipped to be free therapists to these kinds of troubled individuals anyway, so it's better to let them know up front that they cannot use the comm as free therapy sessions. I have no sympathy for this one in particular, this post already reeks of her using her “childhood trauma lolitas r luvlies” to baww her way into being unbanned.

On a similar note, I never answer posts like >>10185866 -- that one seems like playing into dollism fetish where you play being a doll while someone else dresses you up. These kinds of posts should just be ignored into oblivion.

This girl may have been misguided, but the fact that its so prominent for kids these days to call their barely-pubescent boyfriends “daddy” (or god forbid an actual adult) i dont really blame the mod for removing them.

Also, age regression is not healthy regardless of age. Feeding into delusion doesnt help anyone (unless maybe in a clinical setting to understand base trauma to work through idk).

Either way, Theres no way a 14 year old girl on social media and instagram isnt aware of whats in the little space tag or is unaware of the connotations of it. ESPECIALLY in lolita. Misguided maybe but theres no way she didnt understand exactly what the history behind the term was.

the "daddy" thing is not always a ddlg thing. gay guys say it similar to how straights say "baby", and gay culture has been leaking into the mainstream for a while now. half the women saying it on twitter aren't actually using it for some weird father RP shit, they're just trying to be edgy because they're the type to follow james charles or whatever. i wouldnt ban anyone on that alone unless they were also talking about "little space" or other ddlg shit.

I found out that impulse purchasing for me as well as keeping track of a budget and spending is a big problem with ADHD. A lot of people with it end up going into debt, bankruptcy, have multiple divorces.

The only thing that has been my saving grace is that I'm resourceful and I typically have a few multiple streams of income. Either by steady employment and having a few side-gigs.

Right now, I'm about 3k in debt. Some lolita, some not. I just paid about 1k, I'll have the rest down not too long from now, since I have some outlets to get more money, so I'm not concerned.

At one point I was almost 10k in debt, more of that was lolita, but a large chunk of it was dental work, car-related, daily expenses, and general impulse buying. I actually had to sell down 2/3 of my wardrobe after that, and it was pretty painful. But I was able to get it paid off in less than two years.

FWIW, once I have this current debt paid off, I will be entirely free of debt as I did pay off my student loan debt.

But it's quite common and acceptable to be in a small amount of debt, it does help to build credit and raise your credit score if you're paying it on time and consistently.

Normal people don't wear and collect niche $100+ dresses or pay $25+ for second hand socks tags on or off either, but who am I to judge.

nayrt but did you miss the parts where people were talking about adhd and addiction? struggling with impulsive MH issues is not the same as being "irresponsible."

>> No.10203653

addicts are irresponsible, though. they put their addiction before anything else-- that on its own is not responsible adult behavior. You can come up with all sorts of excuses but that doesnt change the fact its irresponsible.

and i would definitely consider a niche fashion that often costs 100+ for a dress a frivolous thing. that doesnt make it bad, it just isnt necessary to live. My dresses make me very happy, and are a huge source of my joy, but I know to pay my bills first and use my extra money to spend on it.

No you're not? Your rent should be about the same as your mortgage payment and the rest of your money should be going to paying necessities. AFTER THAT it's up to you if you want to pay more on your mortgage, save for emergencies, or spend it on things you don't need.

>> No.10204126

Not that anon, but the real struggle is when you KNOW it's irresponsible, but you're fighting the mental illness to combat it. It's not like any of us /want/ to have this problem. If I could wake up tomorrow and never get distracted by an impulse again, I'd love that. I tend to mood swing through depression and/or short attention span and have hobbies all over the place, and ideas all over the place, and then the shopping happens because I'm not keeping my focus where it should be.

I've been trying to be better at that by creating a budget. But it doesn't magically change the sub-behavior that's been hardwired into me my whole life. It's difficult and I'm doing my best.

Also, you must not know about the hollywood production code, which censored movies which offended people enough to cause outcry--movies could not contain swears or nudity, even silhouetted nudity, because of how much it offended people. You only think people are easily offended now because you dont realise, historically, people have always been offended as fuck. It's just much easier for people to voice it with the internet age, that's the only difference.

honestly part of it is that kids really have no place on social media. just because you have to be 13 to legally use a website and sign up, doesn't mean that it's a site actually suitable for 13 year olds.

even though yah kids use places like twitter, instagram, and tumblr, they are not places actually suited FOR kids.
