I mean, to me pre-2008 is more old school as it also predates the rise of 'nerd culture' and JNig becoming mainstream - that was pretty much when shows like Big Bang Theory started up, Iron Man became unexpectedly popular making comics and comic books even less of a thing for children or geeky adults, etc. After that I feel like there was a big culture shift and a huge rise in the number of people devoting more time to better construction, accuracy, etc.
