Actually no. Look at the print. MP in black as a replica (except with Oojia's who does not use ice cream lace) usually has glaring holes where the print is not filled in. There's a few telltales here:
- The cut is modeled off the lavender the special set JSK. That cut only exists for that particular colorway and no others.
- The center part of the ice cream house is black.
- You can see how thin the fabric is just from how it lays over the bodice.

In panels, I will typically hold it up and look through it, allow people to touch it and my real one to get a feel for the difference.

It's a fine piece in person, but styling and photos can really throw things off. Don't judge too much from worn photos. Someone with greasy hair, in poor lighting is not going to make a dress look good no matter what the quality is. Personally, i think the black colorway (and probably all) has been cheapened by all the replicas. But it's still one of my favorite prints.

I’m not pressing for anyone else to use 3-strikes method to judge a coord if they don’t want to but it is valid and some people do use it. It’s just a quick, convenient guide and actually helpful to me to be more fair in my judgement because I actually acknowledge that I have certain biases that aren’t gonna change any time soon and they do skew my opinion.

Typically if a coord breaks 3 or more of the rules (the major acknowledged ones like wear a blouse, wear actual lolita shoes, wear something on your head, etc and/or the unwritten ones like don’t be fat, no print replicas, use proper hygiene, style your hair, don’t try to lolify an F21 dress as main piece etc...) chances are that coord is well into ita territory. I’m sure other people judge coords many other ways from spending time debating the finer points or pondering borderline aspects of this or that item within a coord to ‘one nitpick or flaw and it’s ita’ thinking and that’s fine, posting it here lets people share opinions and most of us aren’t into witch hunts, calling out people posting to improve or vendetta posts.

If you don’t like 3-strike method personally then of course don’t use it. Tell us instead how you judge a coord.

Well, it's pretty ita, but it's also pretty much run-of-the-mill ita.

I don't know about upcycle cringe, but yeah, I do feel like she's done nothing more than waste time turning trash into more trash. The blouse is ok for non-lolita and can probably be reused, but that skirt is just so horrible, she's gonna bin it when she finally realises how trash it is, might as well have left it in the thrift shop for someone else to do a better job with it.

Like I get that she probably couldn't find enough fabric to make a decent skirt out of it, but that's all the more reason to actually go to a fabric store and buy a couple of yards that will make an actually nice skirt she can wear for the next ten years without throwing it out, turning trash into different trash doesn't really upcycle anything.
