I don't attend this convention anymore cause frankly it's a m e s s, but when I did there was a guy who stalked female cosplayers at the con/hotel and sexually harassed them (asked inappropriate questions). He was finally banned after he called a hafu guest a racial slur.
Probably not as interesting as some anons' stories, but it's all I got lol. It was a small con so there aren't many creep attendees stories.

I guess this could fall under topic too, though it's multiple people involved. Basically the last year I attended, Fall 2017, there was a kid (18yr I think) that was harassing a bunch of people (blocked their path, shouted at them, even stole candy from me that I got from a panel. He yelled "don't report me" as he ran off lmao) but there was one particularly disgusting case that we'll come back to in a second. So all this shit was happening on Saturday, and when Sunday rolls around someone made a comment on the FB group saying what this guy did. 30+ people replied, again this is a small convention so replies are usually limited to 10 unique ones at most, so you can tell something was up with this dude. However, Monday morning The thread was deleted and everyone who commented on it was blocked from the group, by the con runner herself, including moi. I asked to see my mom's phone since she was friends on FB with her and she had made this long ass rant about it, saying no one respected her/the con, and yadayadayada. She did this a LOT so it wasn't surprising, and she later deleted it.
Now buckle up boys cause this is where it gets gross. The disgusting thing the guy did that I mentioned before was that he sexually harassed 2 love live cosplayers both fuckin 14 years old. They told their mom and she was pissed, took it to con security, but surprise surprise they did nothing about it and said it was "out of their hands". Mom said she was going to call the cops so that they could file a report, staff said go ahead, so that went down. Not sure what happened here, but basically the con runner messaged her and a bunch of other girls who were posted in the thread privately, saying how she was going to sue them if they mentioned it again. The mom was like damn alright and contacted a news page and reported it lmao.

Here's some extra info that I couldn't fit in:
Con runner acted innocent in the news article, saying she contacted the staff but 'wouldn't listen' and decided to call the police instead (however when she later talked about this on FB she said she didn't even know it happened??)
They took the harassers side because "he's just a kid" (exact reason that they stated)
The con runner's story doesn't add up, since she's always lying/changing it.

For extra clarification, I was a minor at the time of all this happening. Again, sorry for the long message lol

Not really during a Con but I saw this unfold in the FB group.
All of these came from the perspective of girls and it all came to be some of the most disgusting things I've witnessed where I won't stand for either side.
From what I remember, this is what happened
Guy befriend girls during con and add them on Facebook. After the Con ends, the guy would occasionally message them for anything. Then, the guy would message them about their relationship status when he sees that said girls are either in a relationship or broke up of theirs. He tries to have a date with said girl but girl reject him. Guy goes on a rant and accuse girl of being thots, constantly changing partners every few months etc... Girl got pissed and before she can blocks him, he blocks her. Few months passes until this cools down, the guy unblocks her and rinse repeat.
Girl got really tired of this shit and exposed the guy in the group page. Multiple girls starts coming forward and sharing that they are going through the same exact experience with this guy. Some of the guy's friend comes forward and say that he is genuinely nice, just going through a rough spot and is constantly depressed. The girls all start to dox him, call cops on him, call social workers, contact his friends or mutual friends, the whole 9 Yard. They all say that it is to help him when people like myself come forward and say that what they are doing is no better, if not worst than what the guy did.
The whole thread turns into a whole flamewar where one side is saying what they are doing is equally wrong. The other side is saying that they have the moral high ground, they stand with the victims, that the other side are defending the creep are enabling an Incel and that the only way to "save" him is by absolutely ruining the life of an already depressed man and maybe push him to an hero.
Mods have a life and were in class. They couldnt lock the thread or delete it until the incident was 1h in

We have two that I know of.

One cosplays Snake and Tony Stark and is extremely rude. Yells at girls and fixates on female who cosplay characters he likes. I think something is wrong with him, like he might have aspergers but he has yelled at several friends of mine in middle of conventions and made them really uncomfortable. He chewed me out personally for not reply to his messages right in front of my SO and it was awful.

Another one is a photographer who I’ve found that he posts cosplayers pictures on fetlife a lot without permission. He also has recently started only shooting partially nude women and boudoir but saying they have to be a specific body type for him to shoot. I’ve shot with him several times but he gives me major creep vibes.

I was walking around with my friends and I saw him talking with a guest lolita cosplayer on her booth. She was visibly uncomfortable since he would randomly hug her and kiss her on the cheek. Honestly, at the time, I thought it was kind of funny because nearly all the local female cosplayers know about this guy and how they shouldn't talk to him because otherwise he would get to clingy and never leave.

There's a dude named Derick Udarbe who regularly attends with a not-so-savoury rep behind him. Couple of things I've witnessed first-hand is him trying to peek into the change room while my friends were changing out, and he also went to the workplace of another friend to stare at her through the window while she was on shift.

The thing in this thread is that most anons are not talking about shaming their cosplay nor doing drama related to famous cosplayers but about certain people that have no common sense nor any thought of hygiene or any social skills. In which, when you think about it, they can be real dangerous people that would try to attempt rape if you were alone with them by drugs, forced or yourself getting beaten really hard in order for you to shut up and stop screaming for help.

This is no easy topic, and I know you want the rules enforced in this board in order to maybe improve its quality, but since this topic is being discussed once every millennia, this thread will get a pass and most likely will not get deleted as long it doesn't get too much in the things you're concerned about (i.e. drama/cosplay shaming).

And as my personal opinion, I think /cgl/ should discuss this from time to time given the fact that some boards have people like the ones discussed here.

Look anon, here in 4chan is the closest thing to see what one thinks really deep inside their mind without any restrictions or shaming given the anonymity of this site. If you really think about this and consider it, you will realize that the thoughts that everyone has here against these kind of people is what most people would think; even some unhygienic people would think like this when they cannot handle other more unhygienic people (despite the lack of self-awareness).
And moving on the social awkwardness; you realize people will always judge you based on your unusual behavior if it is as extreme as these kind of people. Yes, most of us may be a little awkward when you're a little anxious or you're with an attractive person, but there are limits.
Since I'm starting to think that you have never been around these types of people if you seriously do not think the same as any other anons have said here about the really strange behaviors and lack of social etiquette that is taking a proper shower at least before going out and not touching someone's body out of nowhere.
If you were given a situation similar to the ones ITT, I'm pretty sure your mind will change for the better.

We have a few creeps in the area but my least favorite is this one guy. He is definitely austistic but uses it as an excuse to harass women and be a rude asshole. Every con he “cosplays” the same few closet cosplays so it’s fairly easy to spot him. He will follow and harass women at the con and then openly fantasize about them on his social media. He’s yelled at and heckled panels. His autism is no really excuse for the havoc he wreaks. As far as I know he’s been banned from a few area conventions but I still see him every so often.

I once worked with a guy who had real teeth like that, but (if you can imagine it) worse. You could smell him coming around a corner if he was breathing hard (which was often - he was like three of me put together).

One day one of his back teeth was just so rotted it plain shattered while he was eating in the breakroom; there was a lot of blood and other stuff. Insanely gross. He was out for three weeks due to rounds and rounds of dental work, but when he came back his teeth looked normal-ish and his breath wasn't quite so rancid. I quit about a month later so I don't know how it worked out for him.

There's probably a condition that causes it but some people really just do take awful care of themselves. I imagine it's a thing that piles up and gets hard to manage and easy to blow off until it just goes catastrophic like my coworker's did.
