Imo, the boy apps aren't as loved as the girl apps, the Japanese version of db only has one advantage over global and that's voices. If you like the voices in DG but want that for a boy then I'd go with the Japanese version of DB (also they have a lot more VAs too choose from, maybe that's why global doesn't have them yet..) Animal Boyfriend is fairly the same global vs japanese from my experience but I'm not the most educated about AB, so If anyone comes along with more experience with AB take their word over mine.

Though DG is super casual I have to say I play it more than MCC, I like the art more and there's tons of more to do for not only customization but also gameplay, there's some extra features here and there that make it a lot easier for me to play. DG isn't without its faults though, in terms of gacha I prefer MCC's separate themed gachas with one free play per each I also like more variety with the events. (Although seems like DG is getting a little more variety somewhat?) DG is the only English release anyway that has gotten the collabs too. DG also needs more ways to spend shells. There is an app called cheat droid that can read the preferences files of any app, usually the password is written in one of those files, it can be in hash form though so rather than finding the password, it would be faster to just copy all your old preferences files to the new app install on the new device and overwrite the default ones, if you can't overwrite the files just open them with cheat droid and manually edit each file overtiring the content with copy and paste.

Anons, you should check out CUE! See You Everyday. It's a brand new seiyuu raising mobage, very high quality and the girls are super cute. Music, art, design, everything is top notch. Character models use live2D. It's JP only but no worries, the game is pretty simple to understand and there's a Twitter account or two that's been translating it. It reached 1 Million downloads fairly recently; it's trending in Japan. Give it a shot.

Stuff that may interest you:
The game has multiple fully voiced and animated fake anime shorts. You can change what seiyuu is voicing which character.

A seiyuu of your choice stands in your home screen. She talks to you and gets more lines the higher her affection. You can change her outfit. You get outfits from seiyuu cards, though they're character dependant (ie. different seiyuus can't wear each other's outfits).

There are VN-style story sequences for each of the seiyuu heroines.

There is no western community for the game yet but I'm hoping we can start one in the near future.

CUE! is a relaxing game. The kind of game that doesn't take a lot of energy or focus. It's similar to /mkg/ games in that respect.

Training and getting item drops via "Lessons" where chibi depictions of the characters do cute things automatically, and then "Recordings" where you form a team with your cards + friend card that can generate the most points for a particular fake anime; this too is automated beyond team formation. Of course the better your final rank the better rewards you receive.

Once you 100% each Lesson chapter of a fake anime you may view the fake anime short fully. Changing the default voice actors of characters requires a special item though.

Cards have type, stats and abilities and can be upgraded by being fed items and in doing so can unlock new abilities.

It's very simple but highly addicting.

Playing DG

You have to go through every area first at 5/290 percent per step, but then you can choose stages and go at 5% per step. There are 5 stages, a general one, a Cream-focused one, a Sugar-focused one, a Cacao-focused one, and another general one.

The 6th recipe is supposed to be a secret and only gives you an item and no points or tickets. (it's the chocolate on the cheek one from previous events).

Also, you can pick quantities of each ingredient in multiples of 10 up until 200 to set a recipe to use, then choose multiples of the recipe to attempt in one batch.

Otherwise, there're nothing to impede skipping through stages until you unlock area choice. It's pretty straightforward from there.

Years ago Tapjoy used to be easy with a lot of 'watch short video', 'download app', and 'enter fake email and address for scamshit' for a lot of points. Now you have to actually grind in the apps and the email entries are now trials that need your card info. The only ones I manage to do these days are the ones where you just enter your zip for insurance quotes, but there's only a few of those that refresh every few days and they only give 2 NP each on double campaigns.

So yeah you're gonna have to buy NP. You should preemptively do so when they give bonus NP or exclusive outfits.
