I treat my boleros like blouses. I find their neck lines are more flattering on me, I probably wear them more than I wear blouses. They're so comfy, I even wear them under JSKs and OPs. I just really love a good bolero.

For classic and gothic, I like Axes Femmes, they have a decent selection, mostly mock turtlenecks with nice detailing but sometimes even pieces like pictured.

Honestly, I strongly disagree with the idea that oldschool coords have to be perfect. The feel of dissonance in a lot of oldschool snaps is what really makes me love it. A lot of anons actually had a problem with ophelia's coords looking "too perfect". This is probably my favorite coord she's ever done, just because it has that miss-matched, streetwear feeling.

See what I dislike about old-school lolitas is the double standard. They see something ugly, but because it's an old street snap it's suddenly worthy of copying? I'm not one of those people who thinks lolita always has to look perfect, I just don't look at old-school through rose-tinted glasses. Sometimes adding normie or casual things to a coord makes it look more wearable (or gives it a cool vibe, Idk how to call it), and sometimes it just makes the coord slightly worse.

The problem is that "worse" in a lot of cases is completely subjective. I hate patterned socks for example, but other anons strongly prefer them. I never call a coord "worse" because of my personal preferences, I just acknowledge that I would never coord it that way. I think ophelia's socks look fine with that coord but again, it's just an opinion

I hate old-school because they treat it like a costume. Maybe that's not the right word, because they wear it as a fashion, but it's like they're cosplaying people from Fruits and GLB instead of developing their own style. They act like old-school is better, more wearable and more creative than current lolita, but meanwhile they're actually more strict. Only old-schoolers keep bringing up Ophelia btw.
