Because until recently, people didn't think there was really any recourse for shit like that if the guy didn't actually rape somebody. I've been in the con scene for almost 20 years at this point, and Vic's been notorious for this shit for almost as long as I can remember. I know several people who told me stories of being groped by him or whatever long before this whole thing started, and that's not just from cosplayers/random girls but from people I worked with when I was in a guest-related staff role at a major NA convention. It's just that it's only since the whole me too thing kicked off that people have really come around to the idea that you can actually call people out on this shit.

The girl that started all this just wanted drama and conversation to continue about it and look here we go! It happened. She is winning without even having to do anything, quite sad especially since it isn't even true. She dated the dude for 2 years then tried to scream harrassment when he left her. Say what? That 100% is a no. I have it on good athority this liar only had minimum sexual contact with the "abuser".

Miss powers filled this complaint only after the guy filed a complaint on her. And I mean right after she was notified of said compaint.

My friend only wished that she not contact him anymore. He was trying to enjoy a Christmas morning with his family when she texted him from alternative methods using her power as correspondence secretary for otakorp. As I'm aware Ms. Powers texted him all day and asked him to unblock her to continue a conversation that I beleive he had no intentions of continuing.
Reluctantly he did so and continued to talk to her untill it became clear Ms. Powers only wanted to work out the relationship he no longer wanted anything to do with, and gain information about his new relationship status with another female.

Anyway. This piece of trash has pasted this doc several places all over the internet and everywhere but here it has been taken down for numoious reasons. I am kind of glad it is still here and someone can finally shed some light into the lies. She truly is the worse kind of human being. Discredits real victims stories.

Otakon higher ups have had a policy of protecting sexual harassers for years. I know one female staffer who was asked to quit after she reported a male staffer who made her uncomfortable, and another who was forced out after a fellow low level staffer groped her because it wasn't caught on camera so there was "nothing to prove." Nothing about this surprises me.

As much as I would love to entertain the idea that this situation she is speaking of is the same as the incidents you are speaking of it isn't. If what she is claiming was true she wouldn't have dated the guy for over a year. Gone out of her way to catch seveal busses to his house. I also believe she wouldn't have begged on more then one occasion for him to be sexual with her. I know nothing of the inner workings of otakon. I do know something about being a victim of sexual assult. This girl is really crazy. And in no way has she proved a case where she's ever said no. Just seemed scorn and butter that her man left her for another woman. And reported a conversation that he seemed to not want anything to do with.

A lot of the staff drama is nearly invisible to the average attendee. Keep in mind there are anywhere from 800-1000 staffers and volunteers who just show up and do their job.

Its a great first convention because there is quite a bit to do both at-con and in the surrounding areas; or just park yourself and people-watch.

Also, if you don't mind not being able to stay late, you can commute via Metro from suburbia
