Honestly I don’t have any horror stories just annoyances desu. Like annoying people calling me strawberry shortcake, or asking what I’m wearing while drunk. I think the worst was just getting my period early and bleeding through my bloomers.

Getting the hem of my dream dress stuck on a fence and ripping it the very first time I wore it.

Also, a lady grabbed my waist tie as I walked by once, and pulled it and the buttons off of my dress, ripping the material in the process. No idea why people think grabbing other people's clothing is okay... It was some random lady in the supermarket who wanted to tell me (supposedly) that she liked my dress...

I'm the anon up above who had their waist ties and buttons (for waist ties) ripped off by a stranger at the supermarket... I really don't know wyf gives people the idea that they have the right to grab lolita clothing. I wear all sorts of different "dressed up" fashions, and lolita has been the only one this has happened with. I even had a black lady LIFT my skirt up once because she wanted to see what was beneath. Bitch, what do you THINK? Luckily I wear bloomers but god damn, thanks for making me flash the public...

>> No.10099994

Last train of the night, completely packed, some drunk guy sat next to me and started talking to me because i wore "the same thing as his girlfriend". I found out from him that his girlfriend was an ageplayer who had been sexually abused by her father as a kid and he kept asking me if that was the case for me too. He also told me I should meet his gf and that she would love me and my clothes and we could become good friends.

I couldn't change seats thanks to the train being so full so I had to listen to him for 30 minutes. I ignored him the entire time and chatted with my friends on phone, but he just kept going on. I have never been happier to reach my stop.

>Why does every lolita have at least one "I had to remind a grown ass adult not to lift other people's skirts" story
Honestly, the psychology behind it fascinates me. There's so much content and discussion about why girls choose to wear lolita, but I want to know what it is about lolita fashion that makes people who may otherwise be completely normal and ordinary, to go completely apeshit and lose all semblance of humanity.
I haven't had any true horror stories (thankfully) but plenty of occasions when grown adults touched me and my dress or lift up my skirt to see what makes it poofy, and a moment later immediately apologized and felt embarrassed for their behavior. What is it about our frilly dresses that makes people forget their manners?

It's because my motivations are cuntish. It's not to inform but rather troll. They always get mad when I say this. I ask them if they're a devout catholic first, which they reply "no" and then I ask them why they have the cross of saint peter and the pope. hey usually try and tell me how it's satan and then I "educate" them on the history of why it's associated with satan (protestants seeing the pope as the anti-christ) and that hollywood has just run with it as a satanic symbol.

That doesn't sound edgy anon, a lot of brand clothes are expensive and sometimes irreplaceable. I was just saying to my mom the other day how if my house caught on fire and everyone was safe the first thing I'd do is run to my closet to pick out my most favourite dresses and take them with me. I love my dresses so much and even with insurance it's not like just running to the store to replenish my black jeans, I've been building up this wardrobe for years. My dresses are as important to me as other people's old antiques, family photos or prized toy collections. Lolita is everything to me and I will die with it.

If such an emergency happened, would insurance replace the outfit?

>> No.10100507

>>10100498
Thing is with lolita in a lot of cases insurance can reimburse you but there's no guarantee you'll ever even find that dress again in the same condition unless you bought it new and it's still in stock. Sometimes it takes years to find a dream item on the secondhand market even once, let alone a second time. I worry that if something happens to my clothes I'll be searching ages for a lot of things or I'll just never find them again and insurance will assume they can be as easily replaced as going to the mall and picking up another white tshirt or generic jeans.

Honestly, even if something happened to my favourite blouse I'd be devastated because it fits me perfectly and I've never seen come up for sale again. It has sentimental value too since I bought it at the first brand store I ever went to. I do have insurance but still I worry a lot about these things.

My entire wardrobe burned down in November in one of the California fires. I talked about it in the feels thread but if ever there was a horror story, it was this.

I was alone with my 3yo daughter and dogs when we got the evac order. I grabbed what I could at the time but the power cut out about 20 mins after. I got the deed to our house, our birth certificates, social security cards, baby pics, wedding pics, a duffel of clothes, my jewelry, took pics of my house and then a op banged on my door asking why I was still there. I needed to go, now.

So i immediately load up the car, grab my daughter and our 2 dogs, leave my cats with the window open so they can get out and leave all my brand behind.

When I got to my mothers house after meeting up with my husband, she keeps telling me how I'm being a drama queen. There's no way my house burnt down, dont tell people that if we dont KNOW. Well, okay one week later get pics of my house burnt to the ground. On my birthday. The fire was so hot, even the wooden slats in between the concrete slabs in my drive way burned to ash.

My entire is wardrobe ash now. Since then, I have had insurance come through and my husband has agreed to let me go on a 25k shopping spree after we buy a new house.

But I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Yeah, I didn't want to, but that's what I was told to do. They had become freaked out and were hiding. It was raining ash, everyone was leaving and you could hear transformers popping. I felt pretty fucking guilty but at that point I needed to get my lil girl out.

Once we were allowed back, we set up a game cam at an animal shelter and found them. One was very sick. Starved and dehydrated with a bad burn. She's been recovering for almost 2 months now. Had to give her subcutaneous fluids for like a week, she was so weak. But now she just needs her fur to grow back and to gain more weight. She's back to getting lots of love and cuddling with her sister. Who was found 12 days later, fatter than before with one tick and in need of a bath.

I never had to “discipline” my kid in the way most people push (aka spanking). As a baby and toddler, if she acted up we’d leave instantly until she calmed down. She learned natural consequences and all that, but impulse control in little kids is near nonexistent. Their brains literally can’t do it. So as a parent you have to be ready to take your hellspawn out of the situation when things aren’t going well. I studied child psychology in college and I can’t stand when parents either sit there and let their kids run rampant or they just start smacking them in public like that’s actually going to fix the problem in the long run.

Do people actually do this and think it's ok? I'm rarely happy with my friends or family touching my hair.

My hair's down to my butt, but I very rarely wear it down to prevent damage/sitting on it/just being a general nuisance when it's windy, and I never have my hair out if I'm walking alone at night or through sketchy areas so I'm not an easy target.

Maybe you should start wearing it up with a fork/pin and if anyone gets to close stab em with it.

Think I’ve had worse experiences in normie clothes, kids seem to be drawn to grabbing or touching my boobs. Can’t say I’m really a fan, especially because parents pretend it’s “soooo cute/funny”. Lots of pictures taken of me.
