The problem is because she wasn't actually wearing lolita in the era she idolises, she has this rose tinted image of how it "should" look which in no way, shape or form bears relevance to what was actually being worn at the time particularly in the western communities (I can guarantee you she hasn't been back through the egl archives, probably because it doesn't fit the 'perfect Japanese aesthetic' ideal she has of it) and she also picks out a particular look as opposed to realising that there wasn't one way to be lolita back then, and yes, a shitload of it would be ita af now. I have an older version of those booties and they are amazing. the issue is the lighting and they don't go well with the fabrics in this coord. the upper is a velveteen and these would look incredible in a gothic coord of a weightier material like velvet. the block pattern of the tights do not go with the style of bootie either.

This is the first time I have ever mentioned anyone's breast size. The breast pannel on the blouse jsut doesn't fit right. It looks like it was made for a smaller girl, as in she had to hike her breasts up higher to fit in that area properly and it looks awkward. This is significantly different because the eras that are typically studied in Gropey's era historical fashion are often ones where there isn't as much recorded and there's sure as shit not people left alive who remember what it was actually like.
