I usually learn when I’m corrected and try not to make the same mistake again. But being there’s soo many words that are like one or two letters off makes the language soo hard to use. You have the ph making a f sound and a ch almost sounding like a sh. Even speaking it out loud you still get confused since some letters make the same sounds. Most of these "similar writing but different pronunciation" words I type wrongly automatic, and it's hard to get out of my system because I'm at the point I don't think about each sentence anymore, I just write. For a first project it's not awful, she seems to have at least a passing knowledge of lolita and some idea of color balance. Think of how much worse we've seen hot pink go, at least here it's more of an 'accent' color. The design itself looks like it borrowed from older baby/meta, but using sub-par materials and amateur techniques.

The front panel and it's tiers should be gathered instead of flat, the hems should be blindstiched, the colors are a bit garish, and the materials aren't great. The pin-on bows also look a bit sad. But for a first timer with no sewing experience she did better than most. I'd like to see her keep trying and improve, maybe try solids with a higher quality cotton rather than what I bet is quilting cotton. She got the shape almost right, the proportions aren't bad, and she at least tried to cover raw edges. I can't see the blouse well enough to say much.

I think a lot of people confuse needing certain details (quality, silhouette, etc) with needing brand. it's not like a dress needs to be brand as long as it's decent quality and fits the aesthetic. However a brand dress will almost always fit those requierements and that is why it is usually recommended.

That said, I did find people with the "not lolita unless from a lolita brand" mentality. But they weren't many.

The bodice looks decently constructed overall. If she would have used better lace, better buttons/embellishments, better ribbons and a mute solid colored skirt fabric this could have had potential.

This advice, like her dress, can be way, way, way simpler. Beginners should really start with the simplest, plainest dress. Make sure the skirt has at least 3m in the hem or 3x her waist (whichever is bigger). Then add a line of lace at the hem and/or across the top of the bodice. Done. Just chose your prints and lace wisely, she can use her oh-so-excellent colour skills there.

Solves the issue of colour balance. Solves the issue of proportion. 3 metres as either a flared skirt or rectangle skirt is definitely the right shape, just need to get the right petti to match.
