I love historical clothing, but sadly my selection is all slips from the 1940s at the moment. I really want to pick up some older pieces, but I'm a taller, modern woman so finding things to fit is a bit difficult. I think she looks really pretty and elegant, but if it weren't those chandelier earrings/pendant, I'd have pegged this as Excentrique and not Moitie, so I guess you do have a point.

imo, it's not that she's not elegant, but a western girl in a normal western hairstyle in western clothes -- it just makes her look really normal. Like she'd probably walk down the road and get a croissant with her coffee, rather than hang out in cemeteries and make up stories about vampires, which was the original charm of Moitie. If we just wanted olde timey western white girl clothes we'd just get them from thriftshops or something, there's no need to ship over a whole different aesthetic from Japan.

I think whoever's doing the styling is just kind of missing that element of overdone fantasy girlyness that made gothic lolita "gothic" and "lolita", if that makes sense. Like it needs overdone curls that is out of style or platforms that are ugly but cute or the kind of look that's goth in graveyard but also kawaii cute. They're just kind of really missing it with the "elegant Parisian girl" look they're going with.

Most of the photos you actually can't see shit. The fluffy pastel wigs cover everything and then you can see like one daisy or maybe a few repeats of strawberries or some rainbow mishmash. The hems shot is so blurry I can see someone's LV handbag more clearly than the print details. These aren't things that make you decide definitively whether you like or dress or not since you can't even see the dress properly. There's just the unbirthday dress and the Valentine dress that has clear photos, even Misako's lacemonster is badly lit and blurry, can't even tell what is the motif on the lace or what is happening on the bodice.

I take it that anons griping about the show are mainly griping about the pastel fluffy OTT rather than the actual dresses themselves, since in most of these photos the fluffy wig covers up about 70% of the photo with very little actual dress being visible. When the full dress comes out we'll be able to better decide if it's garbage or if we can't live without a particular dress.

Personally I'm on the fence with the unbirthday, the grey looks gorgeous but I have to see what the boxes look like against that background instead of the ivory.

For cutsew-skirt combos with ivory cutsews, what do you wear under the cutsew? My cutsews are all quite sheer, and my nude bra is still visible underneath so I have to wear a tank top but I worry that it looks awkward even though it's not super visible. On one hand I've been wanting more werewolf themed stuff. But this isn't werewolf, just wolf. Organza over cotton sleeves is an odd choice. Does anyone feel like it's not worth it sometimes? I adore lolita and it makes me so happy, but after a really bad day of being bothered and ostracized by people, I sometimes feel like I should just give up. I'm not going to, hell no! You could pretty much just buy some crystal organza and either sew or commission someone make it into a bow shape for you.

Add a bit of space in the middle loop so that you can thread the waist ties through there and tie the waist ties to keep the organza bows in place. Embelish with pearls, wear a messy wig that you're braided, a resin unicorn headpiece, and you're done.
