Sorry to beat maybe a dead topic but damn, yesterday I was watching Sakura Hana go live on her insta. It was just sad. She (for reasons unknown) decided to start livestreaming during some get together with her church youth group?? And while everyone was socializing or getting ready to play a game with everyone, she was just running around going "I'm live on instagram right now guys!!" She at one point went up to a group of boys that looked to be about her age and just shoved her phone in their face and said "I'm live right now you're on camera!!" and one of them asked "how old are you?" to which she replied 16, and then he did a huge eyeroll.

It was so cringe yet so sad. Clearly this girl is desperate for attention of literally anybody.

Personally speaking: actual competitive ones like the ones in some asian countries with professional cosplayers with a side stint in covers doing the judging. If the entire competition consists of cringe like the Colossalcon "Talent" contest they are free to say nobody won. If they need examples, maybe invite a cover group with a decent fanbase to serve as a surprise contestant.

We long due for a case of culling the worst acts who are hopeless if the rest of them are to take a look at whats wrong and improve. The ones who really underperform is making everyone else look bad and a competition where it isnt just the fan faves will help improve the health of the Overseas idol scene

Oh my god I just watched this. Nothing I've ever seen has captured the isolation and loneliness of being an awkward, horribly unpopular teen trying to fit in more than this video. The way she silently moves through the crowd, panning the camera from one group to another, all having fun with their friends. The way she pauses to try and be entertaining, like when she sets up the camera to dance by herself in front of it. I’m not defending her behavior. I just want to point out why I think this behavior is actually super common among 15 – 19 year olds, because several people in the net idol community around this age behave like this all the time. It’s the same reason people keep saying Stellure is so immature. I find at sixteen teenagers are particularly emotionally volatile, so when placed into an environment that reaffirms whatever beliefs they hold they’re most prone to dramatic outbursts at that age. Beliefs can count as interests like hobbies as well, basically just any societal group that relates to anything they think. This differs from behavior prior to this age, because this behavior isn’t a result of just simple obsession over something like anime and lack of self-awareness, it’s fueled by societal presence in a group (or obsession) reaffirming personal beliefs of what constitutes justified behavior. That’s why teenagers of this age and specifically Sakura Hana are so focused on what everyone else is doing, why they themselves aren’t reaching similar levels of success, or being regarded in the same way. There's an emotional volatility present in whatever ideas they have, probably half a result of brain function, and half a result of finally being grown up enough for people to take you seriously. This makes outbursts really common among this age in scenarios that allow for the sharing or broadcasting of ideas. When they aren't interested in some idea or the scenario doesn't allow for the emotional volatility, teenagers of this age give the appearance of being normal or old enough to know better. This isn’t a defense of the behavior it's just something I've noticed, and I find the best way to fix this is criticism so the behavior fizzles out. Also I like talking shit so I will continue to gossip about people in that age bracket, despite thinking this is normal behavior,

I'm mainly in this thread for any conversation about odottemita as I'm relatively active in that community, but I'll take it from what I've seen in these threads and pop up elsewhere.

More presence in social media, engaging content. I love to see groups interacting with each other. Even though Stellure's vlogs can be a bit cringy (especially with Mimi hogging the camera and spouting memes), it's fun to see them interact. Actual idols in Asia attend a lot of game shows and the like to establish their personalities and quirks and I think it would be fun to see here too.

Speaking about odottemita, any new interesting groups or covers? I'm hungry for new content. K-pop and Cringe is very welcome, too.

Making an attempt to clap back at people who are a lot older, more experienced, and less naive is doing nothing but digging a deeper and deeper grave for you and Sakura both. Clearly you're new to this part of the internet, because we've been going at this for quite a while and this isn't the proper way to handle such a situation. Welcome to anonymous image boards. I'm not affiliated with Overseas Idol Collection nor am I in the server, but I can say with bounds of certainty that Sakura herself was the one that blew the situation far out of proportion, not the members of OIC. It's clear that the generous OIC heads (who I'm sure spend countless hours bettering the community and helping aspiring idols) tried to help her with what she wanted. TRIED, and tried, and tried. And Sakura did nothing but continue to self-loathe, disregard their genuine advice, and expect everyone to join in her self pity party. When you're disrupting the peace of an organization that's making an effort to be professional, of course you're going to face a penalty (being kicked from the server). Sakura proceeded to misinterpret the situation as "The OIC hates me! They're bullying me!" and like I said, I'm not in the server but if those that are in it claim that nobody ever said they hated Sakura, then I'm going to take their word for it. Nobody has a reason to straight-up /hate/ her; we're all well aware that she's a young teen with a skewed view of the way some things work, and nobody ever said she's a horrible person because of that-- we're just suggesting she get the actual help she needs, not start her own "idol community" out of spite because of her disagreements with OIC, and she stray away from doing things like this if she can't handle the heat she's being served.
