It's really good! Solid wood pieces, can't see any errors in the shapes (there's a little paper comparison chart so you can see what each piece is and therefore the number of it for the instruction book), each piece of wood is already painted well and the paper parts are not blurred. I cannot wait to make this, but I do not have glue in the house so will have to go get some tomorrow.

Hey it's me again. I liked the white so much that I ordered a pink pair about a week ago when they were on sale again. Given production/shipping time, I probably won't get them for a month.

But, I do have pink shoes by Sosic, and if it's the same, it is a more "washed out"/dull pink. Who knows if they use the same fabric for the boots though. I admit I'm a little disappointed in the pink because I'd like it to be more vibrant.

Little bit of both. Taobao brand that isn't the big name ones run about $30-50 USD but there are replicas of Taobao brand that get down to $10-15 USD depending on how easy it is to get the fabric.

This is all Taobao pricing though so Aliexpress I'd probably guess a good $15-25 upcharge to count for shipping.

Yes, there are replicas of taobao brands. So far I've seen Krad Lanrete, Diamond Honey, Honey Honey Cats Astrology got posted on amino, and if you see To Alice not on tomybear.taobao.com half of them are even cheaper replicas, which I didn't even think was possible.

I honestly am really pleased with it, especially considering it cost around 14€. It seems well made, no loose threads or anything, it's a nice, soft but sturdy canvas, all zips are fine and nothing broke yet. Has inside pockets, one of them zippered too. If I wanted to be picky, I'd maybe like the lining to match the outside (I think it's black regardless of the outer color, the yellow one I got has black lining too) but it's not an issue at all for me. And maybe for the straps to be a bit longer but I think they're pretty much the same lenght as brand shoulder base bags anyway, so no complaints.

It's not going to work for lolita. The real lolita stores are on taobao, they aren't dirt cheap, and most of them have finicky order periods and flakey teenage customers (oldfags already know to shop on taobao, not Ali).

So by the time resellers get lolita stuff onto Ali it's guaranteed to be highly marked marked up, shitty, a replica, or a combination or all three at the same time.

If you really want lolita and don't want to deal with taobao, just go through one of the resellers like clobba, glitzy in wonderland or my lolita dress.

Got a bit carried away with my recent haul but no regrets! Genuinely surprised by how decent the quality of the costume jewellery is and for the most part, seems better or an a par with mid-price highstreet brands. Everything has now arrived, last item to get here took just over a month. Entire order was around $80.

Only item that was mildly disappointing compared to everything else was the realistic heart silver tone studs, and the only item I would say wasn't quite like the photo. They're ok enough, just a bit shiny and flimsy feeling – I also found the other jewellery from the same seller to be much nicer for a similar price.

Sure thing! Dress is surprisingly nice. I thought from the photos it might be a bit flimsy and made from a shiny lining type material (especially considering the price £12.50 / $16) but it's actually more of a synthetic jersey type material with a bit of stretch and a slight sheen. The white collar section is quite thin and semi-sheer but it's actually a nice contrast and seems more of a stylistic choice rather than just skimping on materials. The lace is synthetic but soft and of fairly decent quality – not like the horrible scratchy stuff you sometimes see used in cheaper clothing. The stitching is pretty good from what I can tell too. The overall quality is unlikely to rock anyone's world, but it's on a par with some of the cheaper Japanese fashion brands and actually reminds me a lot of some of Ank Rouge / Jamie stuff. Size wise it's not super tiny which was a relief, but could be a little tight for dress sizes over US 8 / UK 12 or if you're very broad shouldered. Ranking 4/5.

Crap I didn't know that. I suspect quite a few of the items I bought are knock-offs and have a bit of buyers remorse because of it. In the future I'm considering going for the more generic looking stuff, or items I can verify as not from indie designs. The temptation is real though, can't deny it.

The rings are good for the price, not particularly sturdy or substantial feeling but look pretty cool and somewhat resemble pewter or aged / oxidized silver. The rings have darkened, pitted areas all over which gives them the appearance of wood / twigs, but of course more uniform looking on close inspection than you would see on a handmade item.

the hoop skirt is a costume piece for sure--it's not sturdy enough to wear under a proper brand skirt/dress, but it has enough structure that its "hoops" would show through a thinner chiffon taobao-weight dress. so if you want to use it as a petticoat it's a no-go. it's also more A-line irl than it is in the stock photos, which showed it as a cupcake-leaning A-line--it is a true A-line shape.

however if you want to use it for aesthetics/outerwear, it's pretty neat and doesn't feel like it will come apart or anything. the hoops are flexible so you can sit down in it and move around in it. the waistband is suuuuper elastic, i have a 25in waist and it could go a lot bigger

pizza planet shirt is super cute and softer than regular tshirt material but it's not thin/flimsy! from some of the stock photos i thought it would be way more fitted/women's size but i got the size S and it's a men's size S. it's fine because i plan to wear it tucked into highwaist skirts/shorts but they've got some cleverly folded stock photos to make it look like a women's shirt. the graphic is nice and clear, and doesn't seem like it will mess up in the wash

will do! the pvc dress--i am absolutely blown away by the quality for the price on this one. the pvc is thick and has a LOT of structure to it. the stitching is really sturdy and the color is gorgeous. i've gotten more expensive PVC pieces that didn't hold a candle to the quality on this one; i really want to get it in more colors. it runs a little small but not shockingly so, just maybe size up one if you plan to wear it over thicker clothing or feel like you might be between sizes.

anon i got the dino purse in! it's super cute and sturdy, it looks exactly like the pictures and it holds its shape really nicely. it's not a super big bag, so if you're used to carrying a clutch you'll be fine but if you carry a bigger bag you'll have to downsize to carry this one. highly recommend.

Look for things with photo reviews and at least 99% positive store rating. Otherwise it's pretty easy to get refunds if the item isn't as expected as long as you don't give in to sellers offering you discounts, telling you random ass stories to guilt you etc. It's not that different to buying on eBay

When I'm looking for something I have a sort of process I guess
1. Sort by orders to get the most reviews
2. Primarily look at photo reviews. No photos usually means I'll look for another listing with at least one photo, even if other listings may have more reviews. If someone is specific about the item but doesnt have a photo that has merit as well.
3. In the absence of listings with quality photos I ask the seller for real pictures of the finished product. Usually they oblige. If they don't, or don't respond, I look for another seller who will.
4. If I'm not satisfied with the above steps I'll either look on a different website entirely or if it's like a $20 or less item I'll take the risk. I assume your cosplay stuff is not, though.

I got the sailor dress. the quality is really nice and it is wellmade but the sizing and proportions are pretty off. i wear about a US size 2 and am usually a comfortable Japanese M. i ordered a S for this dress and the fit is very blocky. the dress is very obviously tailored in the stock images. not pinned, because that would disrupt how these darts are. I will have to take it to a proper tailor and am a little disappointed in that regard but from a quality standpoint it's a nice piece

ebay doesn't allow fakes..technically neither does aliexpress but it seems to be less enforced as there's loads of fashion fakes and replicas on there. Ebay gets a lot of brand sponsorships which I suppose is motivation to ban knockoffs. But just use your head, usually there'll be branding, tags or items in their original packaging, make sure the photos are not stock images, all the usual stuff.

Yeah, it went through a wash and everything and I try to wear it for pics and stuff, but I can't stand wearing it for very long. It has to do with the fabric and it's not just the seams that are itchy. I bought mine from the seller "Moment" way back in 2017. It had (and still has) good reviews, but then again it was extremely cheap
