I know "concrit" is a phrase that is often used here and places like CoF but anon bastardized it into "concriticizing" - you missed the point of my original comment. I was implying that anon just makes shit up so they can shit talk. And of course predictable gulls came to that anon's defense. Your hobby is all about shitting on others. Hence the seagull nickname you garnered for yourselves.

Speak for yourself, I *want* people to know I'm now confident enough to express my feminine side after being a tomboy for so long, that opinions of strangers mean shit all to me, and I'm sick of being treated like a piece of meat.
Whether I achieve that with $30 Bodyline, $300 brand or handmade is completely irrelevant and depends solely on what I think looks cute. If you're treating it as a frilly pissing contest for the most brand you're doing it wrong.

Ugh, no it isn't you fucking dunce. con-crit is short for CONstructive CRIticism, I have never seen anyone in either lolita, art communities or anywhere else call it 'concriticizing'. I suppose you think concrit is an excuse to nickpick and shit on people too, you're what's wrong with this board honestly.

Does AP USA let people try on dresses? I got a dress on sale and it showed up with the shirring very loose, you can tighten it with corset lacing but the shirring definitely isn't nice and tight like I expect. I haven't bought from AP at all in a couple years so idk maybe AP is just shitty in general

>> No.10303988 [View]

>>10303986
AP USA abides by the same all sales are final sales rule that Japanese AP stores follow, but if it's a legitimate defect, you should contact them anyways. AP's quality has gone down (to say the least) over the years though.

>> No.10303998 [View]

>>10303988
Thanks! I genuinely can't tell since it isn't completely dead like when you get damaged shirring secondhand so I think I'll just let it go and be cautious buying from AP USA in the future.

And what money they do have for lolita is often going towards lucky packs or saving up for brand store sales. I usually wait until January in the hopes that some buyers will have Christmas cash they want to spend, but even that can be slow because of people getting their holiday credit card bills.

I used to own some taobao, but god isit awful quality. The shoes can be excused because brand quality is hardly any better but there's really 0 reason not to get brand blouses. They're often cheap secondhand and they're so much more pleasant to wear.

In my comm even the brandwhores (myself included) usually own at least one Taobao piece, usually Dear Celine or Krad Lanrete, and the Taobao-chans generally manage to scrounge up enough for at least one second hand brand piece from LM or a local swap meet. The only person I can think of in my comm who doesn’t own any Taobao main pieces is a super dedicated old schooler.

>>10304082
Same here actually. I kept some simpler main pieces from Dear Celine because they’re pretty nice for the price but sold every blouse I ever got from any Taobao brand because they were all so plasticky with cheap looking detailing.

>> No.10304228 [View]

>>10303967
Nah, not really.

Most girls I know irl has almost entirely brand main pieces. There's a couple girls in my comm that wear entirely taobao or western indie brands, because they're too fat for brand.

But I don't know anyone who really owns a mix. The quality difference is often so stark irl that I think girls who have seen it are turned off buying taobao. Our comms fattychans in general have the "nicer" quality of taobao brands, but even then.... One of them chopped up a Krad Lanrete dress she got at release to make accessories out of, because in person it looked like it was printed on cheap halloween costume material.

Nayrt Fair enough, but there are zero natural-waisted dresses. Only high waisted dresses. Even the ones that in comparison might seem like a normal waist are not really, they’re only marginally better because they hit 2 inches below my tits instead of actually directly below my tits. But I get that everybody has a different body, it would just be nice to see more of a variation in the cuts they offer, like they used to

>> No.10304299 [View]

I miss when brands released more full shirring JSKs and OPs. It allowed for more flexible sizing and the texture then bunched fabric adds to the bodice is often quite cute. Shoulders especially make stuff hard when other measurements are normal and shirring allows the shoulder area to stretch as well.
