I like this idea, thanks.

yes being tall is suffering in this fashion especially if you like old BTSSB
>>10904749
yes it's picrel, lace pleated jsk. Seeing this in a manga magazine was my introduction to lolita when I was a kid and I had it hung up on my wall for years before I even got into the fashion so it's pretty sentimental. Honestly I should've known it would be too petite for me seeing how even here it's worn with bloomers but lolibrary said it's 90cm so I had hope...

What was your introduction to oldschool, or just lolita in general? For me it was Shojo Beat magazine. They had this picture ad in one of the issues and I loved it so much I put it on my wall depsite not knowing anything about lolita

How does it look like early 2000s? if anything, it looks like late 2000s, early 2010s.

My only Lolita regret is, unfortunately, sort of big. Back when I first got into Lolita it was still old school times and OTT sweet and crazy prints weren't big yet. By the time I was able to buy the clothes and build a small wardrobe, everyone and everything was OTT sweet. It wasn't until a couple years after building my wardrobe I realized that I wasn't really in love with my Lolita clothes, and that's when it dawned on me that I fell in love with old-school and don't like wearing super sweet and colorful / OTT stuff. Now I'm at a point where I am not in a place to be able to buy new Lolita clothes right now, and I'm not even sure if Lolita is for me anymore, so I regret my noobie mistake constantly.

Nope, a lot of people think that, especially after the OTT sweet phenomenon, people were sick of seeing it, especially since it deviated so wildly from what Sweet Lolita was defined as before that.
Non-pastel vomit sweet is so much more beautiful, imo, but to each their own. Pic related.

Yeah those where the days! I actually remember the discussion on EGL about 'fairy loli' and being really excited about the distinction between this and typical sweet lolita. At the time I was already afraid of it becoming the new standard and was excited to see the distinction between the two styles (and the addition of a new sub style) but nope my life is not that great and it did end up becoming the standard fml
