Both are perfect for larp it's just the slip on design is generally used by way more medieval and such shoes than the sholace thing. The sholace thing in that form as with the bottom pic is pretty much the exceptionas far as I know.
That and the pattern is as you said isn't a modern one in the upper one.

About ornate details, there are lot, you just have to search for it because the internet is full with the boring ones and people want to believe things were boring back than.

also on pic is a south german (although the general design has a kind of eastern european feel) shoe that is similar in desing to the upper show (look at the one in the background not the foreground one)
Obviously it has a different ornament and missing the middle line thing
