>always been quite confident with my body
>slender waist, decent butt and cute smallish perky boobs
>even considering doing some a skimpy cosplay of a character who wears a bikini top

>enter LDR
>we're at the point where we're sending each other sexy pics and now videos
>seeing myself in motion on a computer screen for the first time
>holy shit I'm hideous
>my shoulders are super wide and while my boobs are definitely perky, they're way too low on my torso
>I look like a male swimmer with half-empty bags of sand taped halfway down his chest

Goodbye skimpy cosplay plans, hello push up bras and layers!

I’ll be honest, I think I’m just too much of an impatient bitch to help out the kind of newbies who post in LSC/P&L. If someone is well on their way themselves and needs help with certain specific things then I’m happy to help, but when I’m confronted with something that looks like a ruffly bag of crap made out of ugly Joanns quilting cotton then I can’t come up with any critique other than “trash it and come back when you’ve developed some taste”. There’s no way to say something like that without hurting their feelings.
Something about the bad taste that so many of the posters in these groups have really gets on my tits. It feels like a waste of my time to type out a detailed post to help someone figure out a technical issue when they’re just going to use that knowledge to make something ugly. At least when I go to a fabric shop together with girls from my local comm I can physically drag them away from ugly materials and clashing colors before they waste their money. But when someone proudly posts their WIP made out of shitty fabric they’re usually determined to finish it, and knowing the end result will never really look good I just can’t be fucked to help.

Sorry, anons. Maybe I can contribute by posting more of my own WIPs instead, to slowly drill into their minds that there’s more to lolita sewing than novelty quilting or nursery curtain crap. I really appreciate anyone more kind and patient than I am who can help these poor souls.
