They're pleather boots, nothing more - so if you can't fit a thick wool sock in them you will freeze your little toes. So get a size bigger and stuff them with grandmas home knitted wool socks. Platforms are great for snow and slush btw. It works totally medieval - you walk above the wet and cold.
