You’re getting things a little mixed up. The book that popularized the concept of lolita was The Lolita Complex by Russell Trainer, not a novel but a pop (read: fake) psychology text that supposedly tried to explain why men are attracted to teenage girls. It caught on in Japan for some reason and that’s where they got the loan word “lolicon”; lolita as referring to an attractive young girl came from that. It’s just as much glorifying of pedophilia as the novel and nowhere near as well written.
