/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

I used to be a pretty frequent visitor to /r/cosplay. But then I found cgl and can't go back to /r/cosplay without leaving with my lady jimmies rustled. You'll see the same Yoko or Samus cosplay submitted once a week. I still like to share advice and will leave comments if someone did a genuinely good job, but I will not upvote found posts, Jinx cosplays without props, non canon Harley costumes, or any other basic bitch cosplays unless it is very well done. You're basically guaranteed to do well there if you're a slightly attractive female with good cleavage. I think that it could do well again if they got rid of the special snowflake supporting mods and made the rules a lot stricter

/r/cosplayers is better in terms of construction, advise, honesty, and help.

Eh, it's twatty elitist bullshit. Some cosplayers have this chip on their shoulder where they feel like only ~*they*~ can be a certain character because only they do it right.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I know that it's easier said than done, but they're just fucking morons. They're just mad that you may steal thunder from them and they thought they'd be the only one cosplaying something there.
