Story time

>Be me a few weeks ago
>19, too old for some younger cosplays
>Still want to try to make the costumes to see if I can make costumes in other sizes than my own
>If I can't my sewing skills are pretty useless when I get out of cosplay, I figured
>12 y/o girl from my church is excited, wants me to make her a dress
>Let her pick between something like Namine or Rumia, as an easy start
>Decides on Namine, she loves the simple design
>Since it was my idea, I said I'd pay for materials and do it for free
>Project was set for somewhere next spring, but she called me to ask if I could finish it in time for her junior high prom
>Literally 2 weeks in advance, while I had mid-terms
>Being a female betashit and a pushover, I comply and tell her I'll do it
>Her family is really poor, so I'm charging nothing for it
>Go over to her house to take her sizes, have pattern all sketched out
>She tells me she wants the design a bit different
>I draw her new patterns until she's happy
>During mid terms she texts me every day to ask if it is done
>It's not, 3 days to go
>Tell her I'll finish it on time, have materials ready and everything
>It's a hell lot of work but I owe it all to myself
>2 days beforehand she calls me, saying that she'll spend the whole day of prom at a friend's place
>So she'll need it one day in advance because she won't be coming home
>Panic, spend the night sewing
>Can't back out now last minute, so finish it somewhere early morning
