I always thought making the costume was the most fun part of cosplaying. Admittedly I end up spending more than it would cost to buy a cosplay, but it usually ends up fitting nicer than a bought cosplay, and you can pick nicer materials for a better-looking cosplay. And it's a good way to pick up skills like millinery and tailoring.

Just finished making my halloween costume/cosplay for my next con, for the most part. What kind of wood stain would be good for the broom handle, though?
