Bump to say: REEDPOP. Fuck me, do I hate this company. Anything good goes to die here. They killed my biggest local con (which wasn't great to begin with) and shut down two local ones when. They run cons on the same date as others. They're just boring as shit. C2E2, New York Comic Con and Emerald City Con are some others they own. APPPRENTLY they're getting ready to butcher AX too?

How's this for a peeve about this board? I was willing to overlook that the c in /cgl/ should just be changed to "Covid" because at least it's on topic with conventions. Same with annoying lolita drama, intergender political squabbling and behind the scenes drama. What I CANNOT excuse is that con discussion is straight up fucking dead in the water.

The fact that these are coordinated threads from one or just a couple people is besides the points. The only post in Otakufest's thread is me, and that's in spite of the fact that it was insanely swamped all weekend, with gulls absolutely everywhere. How this happened is beyond me, not to mention, shit that ended a week and a half ago is getting more attention than all these other upcoming threads by a country mile.

I'm currently judging 200+ apps by myself for 65 AA tables and I want to pull my hair out. Guys, as a fellow artist, and an AA head that decides your fate, PLEASE, make sure your gallery links work. I have a lot of apps with a whole lot of different styles to try and judge fairly. If your url is completely broken, like to the point I can't just fix it with one keystroke (looking at you everyone that put http//) I will get very frustrated and probably be more salty when judging your art, or, if I can't find it at all (like if your aa name is strawberry pancakes or something general like that) I will just give up and your app is auto declined... Oh, and a personal twitter/insta does not count as a gallery. I want your art not someone else's you reblogged or your bad jokes. It says it on the app. Please guys, especially if your art is great, don't make me auto disqualify you.

As a general question, what is everyone's opinion on non-anime artist in a very obviously anime con AA? I'm against it since its not related to our convention's entire purpose, but some of my non-artist judges are a bit more on the fence.
