I swear that we have a thread like this every two or three months. The general consensus is yes, you can, just that unlike most cosplay aspects, this is something that you shouldn't try to be as accurate as possible. Just leave trying to darken your skin alone (even if you are trying to be natural about it) and call it a day. Focus on the costume instead, not their skin colour. If you do focus on the latter, at best you'll have shitty looking make up and look like you're at a minstrel show, and at worse, you'll have shitty make up look like you're at a minstrel show AND tumblr will never leave you alone again.

Otherwise, you might have some people that have sticks up their ass side-eye you, but that's about it.

But if you feel as if you are going to be uncomfortable and worrying about it the whole time instead of having fun, maybe pick a different character
