I'm assuming you mean those weird guys walking around in those cheapo store-bought costumes.. Like the shitty halloween kind that come in a bag and have a little tie at the back of the neck... Adult men wearing those around all weekend long..

If you've got a young kid who wants to wear his favorite superhero costume, that's one thing. Teenagers and adults though, I just don't get it. Clearly they know that people dress up for these things. I have to imagine they've seen pictures of like "AMAZING cosplay from SDCC!" on facebook or some shit. So, short of being mentally challenged and having the brain of a 10 year old, why would someone do this shit?
