I would go, but I would probably chicken out after starting, tell myself "these people are below me" and act extremely haughty/unimpressed/sarcastic throughout the entire thing in order to defend myself from being emotionally damaged.

The last time I had social interaction with someone who wasn't my parents, it was while I was walking home and these two people were fucking in their car parked alongside their house. I heard a knock on the car window, and a guy stuck his head out and said "I'm was getting raped in here! Don't you care?!" I guess he was trying to be funny. My autism blaster was automatically shifted into 3500 and I said "not really" and walked away. The average person is... something special, though I suppose the average person at a con is a bit different. Maybe if they had a friend meetup thing, I would do it.
