>Do you watch anime?
Yes, lots
>Do you like "lolita-esque" anime or anime that has "lolita" characters on it?
Occasionally. I haven't seen that many well done examples. I do appreciate cute, girly outfits though. Ringo from Shirobako was probably my favourite example. She starts wearing to get in touch with a difficult character design, and grows to like it and consider it her battle armour to continue doing her best.
>Did anime or manga influence you at any point as a lolita? (example: wanting to look like Miwako or taking influences from Magical Girls)
I wanted to wear more interesting outfits and figure out a better way to express myself with clothing. I've always admired shows with characters who dress in unique ways, and don't have people bother them about it, or don't care when they do. I love the costumes in CCS, but that influenced my cosplay hobby more than my lolita style.
>Why do you think anime never gets lolita fashion right?
It's inconvenient. Because of the particular requirements of the fashion, there are limitations on how you can draw an outfit. It's also not particularly in favour to have long skirts, so things usually get cut off mid thigh. Anime lolita is its own separate thing now, with its own tropes, and with very loose ties to the actual thing.
