Burger con hotels are inside the convention center - also, there are no hostels nearby and public transit sucks ass.
That leaves you with either sharing a room inside the con with a bunch of people (comfy access to room parties and late night panels) or booking a room in a nearby hotel (might still be expensive, you'll get mugged walking the streets at night).
