/cgl/ - Cosplay & EGL

This is going to sound like complete beginner issue, but I'm totally boot cover incompetent and I need to make something similar to pic related. I've seen a good amount of tutorials, but the ones I understand/have the ability to do require me sacrificing the shoe. I tried making a pair on my own before since I don't have anyone to help me and it was just horrible. I couldn't even tell you what I did wrong. Is there anything you guys can recommend? I don't want to start these and have it end up a disaster like my other ones.
