Ugh god this. I made the mistake of cosplaying Fluttershy from MLP one year. I got approached by SO MANY teenagers who kept trying to talk to me in character. While in the dealers hall, a girl dressed as Twilight Sparkle tried to get me to RP with her and her friend dressed up as Rarity. A few mins later, some 15 year old dude starts trying to get me to act in character (stuff like "Oh Fluttershy, are you afraid of dragons? What would you do if there was a dragon right behind you?"), and after I managed to get away, a friend pointed out that the dragon dude was following me around. So awkward.
