I have pic related but like..
How the hell do I make it dry?
I did a test recently and I had it on for an hour or so but it still didn't feel dry.
I had layers of setting spray and using a hairdryer as well.
I tried setting powder in a previous test but the brush made the paint look stippled. Should I get one of those little puffs and pat it on?
Is it supposed to seem slightly-moist? I'm frustrated.

I've never traveled with a sewing machine but I have called the airport if I'm flying with something that I'm unsure about. They can clear it up with you.

It's quite common to wrap craft foam in fabric, you'll be fine.
Test it on a small scrap to see if it's the look you want, though.
