Well it depends on what route you want to go.
Because goggles are more canon, and suit the look better, imo, but they're fairly impractical for wearing on your eyes above water.

Pic unrelated, but if you've got the cash to drop I would highly recommend Arda's Matilda. The lacefront will give you the slicked back look while looking very natural.

They're an easy way to not smear paint everywhere, but they tend to look really wrinkly most of the time if not made properly.

Also some people really need to learn when to wear them and when to throw in the towel and just paint their hands if that's all that's showing.
