I know they're still going to the same cons as me. Would it be bitchy to make or commission a saber Cosplay? Might not be worth my time if they break up immediately. But I like feeling better than people.

I'm looking to make a suit of armor out of resin, and I've got one concern that I can't find much help on: hot days.

The only major convention down here, Dragon Con, happens down town in a big city in a sub-tropical climate, and the days can range anywhere from 80*F to 118*F from year to year. Is it possible that prolonged exposure to ~100* heat could cause cured resin to begin releasing fumes again?

Hello cgl, i was looking for recommendations on what to make saber's armor out of.

I was considering possibly fiberglass, but it seems a very messy and expensive option.
I was also considering sintra (you can mould it using a heat gun right?) because it was more straight forward and gives a cleaner finish.
I don't want to make it out of foam because i want to to be really solid and dynamic in shape.
I've had experience with wonderflex before, but I don't like how thin it is and when I made greaves out of it before, it buckled folding over the curve of my calf and I had to use foam over it to give it a nice finish, and the foam then rubbed and looked terrible.

So yeah, i'm not a beginner but not intermediate yet with armor.... I'm trying to learn here.

Please let me know your thoughts, recommendations, and advice.
