idk, sometimes i think the hipster idea is funny if its done well with a character i can already see acting like a hipster. and steampunk designs can be really amazing if they're done well too, but some people go so crazy with it that you can't even figure out who they've steampunk'd.
one of my peeves along these lines are lolita-fied cosplays.
