Lmao wut. She isn't "americanized," she's from a Japanese fighting game series, designed by a Japanese artist. (She's also the character whose costume was linked by OP, that wasn't the cosplayer making some random sexy kimono) I understand your anger if it was someone with yellow fever drooling over their paper as they design their Asian waifu, but that's not the case here at all.

I mentioned Kikyo and Reimu bc they are shrine maidens, Kikyo is from Inuyasha and has a very traditional shrine maiden outfit while Reimu is from the Touhou series of video games and is a shrine maiden but her design takes some generous liberties. I'm just trying to see which part was particularly objectionable, whether it was sexualising traditional wear, or just butchering the look in general. Both are done quite excessively by Japanese artists already, and I feel like that's a whole separate issue from Westerners doing the same, as well as westerners having yellow fever and dehumanising real women (although the two former probably don't help the latter at all).
