Older OTT sweet is what got me into lolita, and even though I never wore it, it really makes me happy in a way that modern sweet never could.

It's kind of hard to explain, but I felt like the motifs of older Baby/AP were more genuinely 'sweet,' instead of the dresses we're getting today that are lean towards gothic motifs (castles, crosses, etc) with sweet styling. There used to be a very clear split between what was gothic/classic/sweet, and now that split seems to not be so defined.
