Katsucon 2020 was like the last hurrah of my old life or some shit. It's so bizarre. At that time, everything seemed wonderful, normal and carefree, like it would last forever. Since then, COVID hit, my wife went crazy and filed for divorce, ghosting all our friends, selling her car and moving to another country (I shit you not), half the places I used to frequent went out of business, I moved out of our old home of nearly a decade, and have sold thousands of dollars of my things and am now buying a house and renting the apartment above the garage to my best friend who lost his would-be life long job in another state. This year has been madness and felt like a decade has passed. Katsu 2020 was like the last hurrah before I shifted into another reality.
