It is nice that some of the off-topic threads have been deleted, such as the Dakota Rose spam and such which had nothing to do with cosplay. However, the janitor(s) that have been appointed are deleting far too many threads for far too little reason. It's gotten to the point where if a particular cosplayer is posted that is found to possibly start future arguments, or even if something is found too negative in tone, the thread is deleted. Myself and just about everyone I know personally have been banned numerous times (or ban requested) in the past few months for either making "drama" or "singling out" a cosplayer (ie mentioning a cosplayer by name), which is something that never used to happen in the past and is rather ridiculous. Between the rules of "no drama" and "singling out", janitors are now deleting threads and posts based on whatever personal reasons they wish due to the criteria being so subjective.

The whole "singling out" rule that is now being enforced shouldn't entail simply making a thread about a cosplayer. That would be like if you went to /v/ and couldn't make a thread about a particular video game or went to /mu/ and had your thread deleted if you talked about a specific musician. There's no point to deleting threads, or even BANNING people for this and is far too destructing for such a small board. This is a cosplay board and we should be free to talk about other cosplayers and what is going on in the community.

/cgl/ used to be a fun community and was an extension of the cosplay community as a whole: a place where we could have fun, let loose, talk about cosplay and the people in it, and even meet up and form friendships. Because of the new militant moderation that has almost all been squashed. It's true that /cgl/ needed a bit more moderation to clean up the spam but this was not what we had in mind.
