>-Does anyone have any artist alley horror stories they would like to tell? And the opposite, too: Has anything awesome ever happened to you at the AA?

Horror story: Random girl I didn't know kept stopping by at one of my first cons with a sob story about how she needed money for a bus back home and wanted me to give her part of my profits.
Made $5 profit once when my mom convinced me to sell at a community art fair. It was not an art fair. It was a BBQ competition. I paid $10 for the space and sold one stuffed animal for $15. I no longer trust my mother about venues.
Good story: The BBQ was pretty okay. Other than that customers are usually always really excited about their purchases and that always makes me happy.

>-What was your first time selling like? Were you prepared?

I split a table with a friend (something we continued to do for several cons after) and neither of us was prepared at all. I've definitely learned a lot since starting but I also still have a long way to go.

>-Post a picture of your AA setup!

From last Metrocon. My first table by myself. I still need a banner.

>-What's the best con you've sold at? Worst con? How much did you make?

Best was this past Metrocon, my first "real" convention. Made $1200+. Besides the BBQ fiasco my worst anime convention was about $150.

>-What's your favorite thing to make and sell, besides prints?

Plush

>-What's the weirdest thing you've seen being sold at an AA?

Soaps. I think they're nice but it just feels odd that they're there. Also someone at Metrocon was selling adult diapers and I don't even know how that was a thing that happened.

>-What's the most creative thing you've seen being sold at an AA?

Oh lord, everything is creative. One of the most impressive things though was probably a paper-craft shadow box artist. They were gorgeous.

>-What are some beginner AA mistakes you made?

Prices too low and making my table look like an anime garage sale
