I feel the same. I appreciate sprite work when it's original things but I can not get behind perler when it's nothing but unoriginal sprites copied off the internet. And no one even tries to do anything useful with it. I think ONCE I saw a booth that made picture frames like pic-related and I thought that was nice albeit still really lazy. I have some of my favorite characters that were given to me as gifts and I printed out backgrounds and framed them myself like shadow box art, but I haven't seen anyone doing that in AA. They're so flat boring and pointless otherwise.
