Can someone familiar with traditional Japanese clothing help me with the names for these pieces? Is it just a kimono with a haori(?) over it? What is that tan patterned fabric around his pants? What are the layers under the overshirt; should I make those in lighter fabric (should I use cotton or silk to begin with)?

If you have reliable patterns/tutorials, then that would be double helpful! Also, is it possible to make a haori-himo, or should I buy that? I can't seem to find any tutorials on that.
