i waited forever to find some aatp pieces without the trim. it's less versatile when you're basically stuck using gold accessories. i think they try to use the trim to make up for a lack of texture elsewhere, when something plain like >>8715647
looks so much better. i own a good amount of aatp, but their stuff always feels sort of cheap even in comparison to some taobao stores.
