Despite all of the doom posts I was sent about the long lines and overcrowding, I had a really nice time at AX this year, anons. And I hope you did too.

There wasn't as much cosplay (esp quality costumes) this year, vendor's hall was prize figure city, and AA had a high number of bad booths this year, but I still spent my entire budget and a smidge extra on some amazing stuff. Probably my most successful AA venture yet in all of my years going. I wanna see some hauls!

I got a big girl job, so it's going well! I do have a big ass car payment now, but thankfully it doesn't chip away too much at my fund jar.

I don't work weekends, so no need but I'll probably take the monday off anyway.

Not making stupid purchases until then, but otherwise the hard part is over!

No cosplays this year unfortunately. I put my actual cosplay on the backburner to work on an outfit for the Barbie movie premiere (which is going to double as my halloween costume). And it's easier to shop not in costume. Since I'm not going for more than one day, I am kinda bummed that I can't go in costume at all this year but it isn't worth the discomfort while shopping.

Tbh I'm more interested in the artists who I normally can't purchase from because they're overseas or shipping is stupidly expensive. If I did have to choose, I'd fucking cream if the return of MikuExpo was announced.

I only went for one day, Saturday, but yes I really did. I went with a group of friends (two who were experiencing it for the first time) and it was lovely -- warts and all. Parking was an absolute nightmare, but everything after that was great. Being around the cosplay, excitement, and art lifted my spirits so much that I didn't mind having to pay $21 for a salad and drink, or being cattle in AA. I wish the 4 day passes weren't so expensive, I would've gone back for more.

Vaxxed. I think my mind would've been more at ease if I could've got my 4th before the convention, but oh well. I wore my mask the whole time, so life will do as life does and I'll have to go with whatever fate I'm handed. I just hope I don't pass it on to my family.

$7 in parking, $20 for food (skipped breakfast and had dinner paid for by a friend for styling her wig for her), and I haven't counted my leftover cash but I had a $200 spending allowance for AA and came back with a decent amount of change.

Maid Ichigo from TMM! I anticipated seeing more TMM cosplays (or appreciators) since the reboot is coming out on Tuesday, but surprisingly didn't. Except for one lady working the booth selling the official merch who was over the top excited about me :)

I'm not really a panel person desu. I would've gone to the Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew panel if I could tho

bumrushed AA. Despite the lack of sleep, food, and water, I powered through and finished the entire alley while my friends tapped out early. No regrets. I felt satisfied knowing I left no stone unturned

To start off:
>have you competed before?
I just recently entered a small little online competition for making cosplay tutorials. I made a little youtube video compiling my process making my second-ever cosplay and well.. it was shit! But good shit. The type I know I put my heart and soul into but I just don't have enough experience to make something good yet. I was gonna enter the same costume in the Crunchyroll Cup, but eh, losing the first competition humbled me real quick. I'm thinking of entering the next costume I make into next year's AX's Masquerade or Crunchyroll cup now that my skills should be competent enough for a beginner level competition. I'm excited to document the process properly for once!

Deciding my next character, doing research and sourcing supplies.

>Have you made a construction booklet for competitions before?
No, but I'm going to! I'm a crafty hoe, so I'm excited to pick a cute template and get started. I also wanna make another youtube video, but like, good this time.

To win something, anything. I just want external validation for all of the hard work I've put in up until this point and to motivate me to work harder in the future.
