I'm curious, what is on everyone's wish list?

I'm going through a huge overhaul stage right now, so there's a lot of stuff I want, but I don't want to buy too much at once until I get my shit together and clean everything out. I also don't want to buy too much in the way of clothes right now because I'm trying to get fit and my body type is apt to change. This is what I'm planning on getting:

Skincare:
A retinol serum, some antioxidant serum, a mild AHA product like Detclear, a new night time moisturizer and daytime sunscreen. I've been looking at getting a MIA too, but they seem way expensive and a little overhyped. I may just try the 30 dollar Olay one first and see what I think.

Makeup:
Lots of lashes (my collection is looking sad), a better set of brushes and a decent brush cleaner, glittery blue eyeshadow, glittery eyeliner and a decent self-tanner

Extra:
A couple of nail sets, cute shoes, sparkly jewelry, another DIA belt and possibly a wig or two.

I also have to juggle that with the various books, anime, manga and DVDs I want to purchase. Obviously, this is all going to happen over the course of several months. I just have no idea where to start so I wind up not getting anything most of the time. I know I'm going to buy one skincare product a month and I think I'll start with the retinol serum. (I hear Paula's Choice makes a good one).

You can't spot reduce. It sounds to me like you're what we call "skinnyfat", meaning that you're thin, but it's mostly fat and little muscle. What you want to do is lower your body fat percentage and build some strength.

Cardio and diet are the best way to reduce your BFP. I usually job twice a week and do hill sprints once a week. Running is a full body workout and will make you look leaner all over. It also gives you strong legs and a cute butt.

But weight training and calisthenics shouldn't be ignored. Try and find a routine that you like that is a full body workout. If you're one of those people who is convinced that you will turn into Vin Diesel overnight if you lift weigts, then go for pushups, squats and lunges. Pilates and yoga are also a popular choice.

I'm a recovering skinnyfat and this is what I've been doing. I still have a ways to go and although I've only been at it since late November, I've noticed a difference. Pic related. I'm aspiring to be a somewhat fitter version of Serina.

Honestly, I'm following the sticky advice on /fit/, but altering it a little bit to better suit my lifestyle. Here are my tips:

1. Cardio is the best way to burn fat. I try to do a mix of jogging and high intensity interval training on the stationary bike for at least 30 minutes and at least three times a week.
2. That doesn't mean you should neglect weight lifting, though. LIFT WEIGHTS. You are not going to do some bench presses and suddenly wake up Vin Diesel. I promise. Again, at least 30 minutes at least 3 times a week (on different days than you do cardio), but Burpees are a good alternative if you're short on time.
3. Good abs are made in the kitchen so try and improve your eating habits. By no means starve yourself; with all your increased activity, you'll be hungrier. Just make better choices. Any improvement is still improvement. Cut down on sugars and fats, eat your oats and go for lean protein and lots of it (I still need more).
4. If you're the type who needs instant gratification, I suggest tanning up! It makes you look leaner and calls attention to any muscle definition you gain quicker. Why do you think body builders are so dark?
5. Don't get discouraged! If you backslide don't beat yourself up about it, just tell yourself the day isn't wasted and do something healthy to make up for it; there's always tomorrow. I'm definitely not one of those people who thrives on negative motivation. Find ways to make it fun. I love shopping for cute workout clothes, now.

That being said, I've been sick off and on since thanksgiving and have fallen off my routine something serious. Especially since it's the holidays.

Pic related. It's Izumi Mana's stomach.
