I swear I see this discussion every day.
Dress your weight. I wouldn't cosplay a beautiful tall character like Yūko Ichihara or a character who has more meat and curves on them than me like Musubi from Sekirei. I fit dantier small characters like Nia and Chii no matter how much I wish I could wear a cosplay of something else.
People need to accept that to be accurate they need to cosplay a character that fits them, and not try to dress like something they're not and argue their way out of it.
