I'm currently making albw Zelda's tabard and tried embroidery. I just discovered i suck at it and it ended looking like a total mess. Is fabric paint recommended for this kind of costume? I think it' d look better with some embroidery butb i don't want to fuck it up again.

I just recently finished my own princess Hilda, and I made the crown out of craft foam and resin cast gems. I think the overall look was nice, with cutting craft foam you can get nice clean lines while having a material that bends easily around your head.

As for the tabard, I hand painted mine because the purple fabric I had puckered like a motherfucker, so I knew that if I embroidered it, it would look awful.

Here's a handy reference I used while painting.
