I wore street fashion in japan, tourists give you weird looks, everyone else doesn't really give a toot. I think you'd get more attention for being a gaijin than being a lolita.
I don't blame you for this mindset btw. A lot of people dream of moving to new york because they can be themselves there, and then once they do, they're shocked that people still harrass them constantly and tourists are rude to them. It's this idea alt-fashion people have that somehow the big city will be kinder.

I like these photosets a lot too. There was a lot of controversy back in the day over whether they were real or not, I think a lot of them were real, but there were some obvious fake ones.

I feel like this could've been a fun, entertaining thread if it wasn't for all the repetitive "ur a fat slob triggerd tumblrina i cant stop cringing" comments.

btw there are lots of people over on /ck/ that are not fat, have proved they aren't fat and enjoy talking about and eating fast food. (a lot of those guys are just /fit/ fags who have really fun cheat days however)

I wish I could contribute more but all I've really got is that when I did work at a fast food place, I was apart of a tip pool which is how I got most of the brand I have now. I would get like 300+ in addition to my check every time I got paid so I'd just spend it on brand. I no longer work in fast food though. Now I have a boring desk job but at least I don't have to clean floors on my hands and knees.
I did go to a show with a friend who isn't lolita but I dressed in lolita and ended up puking after eating too much sushi and drinking before hand? So that's kind of trashy. Didn't get any on my dress though.

I'm into a lot of alt fashion, especially lolita and ott sweet is the loudest of my favorites. I would LOVE to wear it, but my high anxiety barely lets me out of the house, let alone garnering all that attention.

Posting a few I didn't see yet!

I only just started buying lolita so I haven't gotten a chance to wear it out yet. My boyfriend was very supportive, even offering to help me pay for it because he thinks it's cute and likes seeing me happy, however he was pretty nerdy to begin with and had a friend who was into lolita before we had met, so it wasn't a new concept to him.
I haven't told my parents yet. They probably won't be too against it; I used to cosplay, which my dad was iffy about but my mom was always sweet, asking about the characters I was cosplaying or offering help with sewing.
I don't know if it's comparable, but I wear mainly goth j-fashion just about every day, and I do get a lot of comments about that. A lot of positive

>Any crazy assholes? Once a drunk dude came up to my girlfriend and I and carried on for at least five minutes about how scary we were and how he thought we were in a horror movie.
>Nice people? Again, shopping with girlfriend. We walk into a store and some old lady shouts LITTLE BO PEEP! We were annoyed at first, but when we explained that no, we were not little bo peeps, she was really nice and told us how cute our dresses were.
