At least you don't have to work in one. It is pretty sad but fortunately, the environment I work in isn't as bad. I'm surprised that other places still do this, but mine doesn't allow smoking indoors; the set up is funny in that I feel like I'm in a time capsule from the 90s (minus the new TV screens and a few updated games).

It's a good thing I hate gambling, machines are boring, I don't get card games, and have little luck, or else I'd end up being like those poor old people whose (grand) kids don't even call. They like to chat attendants and cocktail waitresses up because no one else talks to them. I haven't met too many regulars, but I did see my gynecologist for the first time (that was unreal). Some are good tippers, some don't tip at all (even if they tend to be big winners).

I'm sorry for making you feel bad. I was just imagining an adorably kawaii casino full of frilly dressed people, playing on cute machines or with pretty cards (Alice in Wonderland/Imai Kira art - does she make playing cards?), winning and losing money for brand -which on some nights would be raffled off - like the cars and vacation packages at work
