I'd rather not, mostly because I want some sort of a light armour on me. It's meant to be a 'light combat' kit, for when I need to be more dextrous (Or just cannot be arsed to wear proper heavy armour).

I'll look into something I can wear under the gambeson. Wearing both a doublet and a gambeson where I live means you're going to melt, most of the time.


Do you think with enough work it could be nade into a proper impressive or at least above decent kit though, or should I go for a different direction altogether?

Just find a proper way to own it my dude. If you're just somewhat short but stocky you can still rock the dwarf aesthetics (I've seen people 1.75 tall who can make it, to a degree.)

I have another very short friend, but not bulky at all who took it to the whole semi-dexfagging thing: He closes in on bigger guys to disarm them, gives the whole "weaker but skilled" show against the "I'm a big boy with a bludgeoning weapon" opponents, etc.
