Dear god, this is cringeworthy. Both the /a/nons and seagulls in this thread are acting like bratty schoolchildren. Threads like this are exactly why /a/ is viewed as being made up of elitist assholes and why /cgl/ is viewed as being made up of bitchy Tumblrites.

But to answer OP's question, there's no magic bullet for dealing with it, but just remember that if people are trying to start shit with you, then they're the ones at fault. If you're being obnoxious and get called out for it, then you're the one at fault, but if it's unprovoked, realize that you're the better person here, and just try to find something else to do (if only for a bit).
